this was one of the best compilation i've found EVER. this besides Razzmatazz :)
a compilation of songs by serge gainsbourg; famously linked with Jane Birkin (yes, the muse for THE birkin bag from Hermes)
basically instead of the french version, a great deal of awesome artists sings them in their versions in english. they include Franz Ferdinand, Placebo, Feist, The Rakes, Marianne Faithful to name a few. even Cat power is on this album! the diversity of the album what draws me to it. plus it sounds haunting enough for a good late night listen.
