Codeine Velvet Club

Wednesday, January 6, 2010 8:09 PM

one of my first few finds for the new year. Codeine Velvet Club debuted their first studio album on the 28th of December 2009, giving us ample time to adjust to them for the new year. I reckon these are one of those albums which upon getting your ears set on them, will make you wonder where they were all these years. Awesomely suited for those who are into British indie bands such as The Pigeon Detectives & The Fratellis with an added female touch who gives the vibe of Shirley Manson from Garbage. Surprisingly the male lead singer sounded familiar and upon wiki-ing the band, i found that he is indeed Jon Fratelli from The Fratellis! so if you're already a fan of his previous band, you wouldn't be disappointed with this one. Online blogs gave this album an average of 4.5/5 & so do i.

new stuff for me to devour for the new year. gonna go look for some good French indie bands now. (my obsession with the French scene is getting a tad bit serious. i now make silly french accents whenever i can)

through the trees

Tuesday, December 29, 2009 10:48 PM

All alone in an empty room
nothing left but the memories of when I had my best frIend
I don't know how we ended up here
I don't know but it's never been so clear
We made a mistake, dear.
And I see the broken glass in front of me
I see your shadow hangIng over me
and your face, I can see...

Through the trees
I wIll find you;
I wIll heal the ruins left inside you
cuz I'm stIll here breathing now...
I'm still here breathing now...
I'm still here breathIng now...
untIl I'm set free.
Go quiet through the trees

I remember how we used to talk
about the places we would go when we were off
and all that we were gonna find.
And I remember our seeds grow
and how you cried when you saw
the first leaves show.
The love was pouring from your eyes.

So can you see
the branches hanging over me?
Can you see
the love you left inside of me?
in my face
can you see?

Cause you're not coming back
And you're not coming back
You're not coming back...
You're not coming back...

Take my breath as your own
Take my eyes to guide you home

crashing down from the sky

10:51 AM

I've been fragile for a long time
A big old hole inside my heart
And I was searching through the valley
Stumbled on love in the dark

Was afraid to try but afraid to never know
What it feels like to be loved
Had a hill to climb
but the places we could go
Oh, I gotta know

So if we ever, fell in love
Would the wind know, would the pain go, oh
So if we ever, fell in love
Oh, oh, oh

I was empty it was all gone
The birds would sing but made no sound
Till I met you, found I was all wrong
You picked me up right off the ground

Was afraid to try, and afraid i'd fall again
crashing down from the sky, you know
Had a hill to climb, but with you I my heart will mend
That's the one thing, we all wanna know

So if we ever, fell in love
Would the wind blow, would the pain go, oh
So if we ever fell in love
Oh, oh, oh

So if we ever fell in love
oh, I wanna know what it feels like to be loved

if we ever

there are plenty of songs made for this.
too many for one to imagine but Tiny Vipers' Dreamer would sum up how i spent the last couple of weeks of 2009 with you. and maybe after all the denial and the hide & seek we had to play among the others i am glad we took that moment away from our routined life. i may not know the intricate details of who you are but i would never consider you a stranger. how we came to be and how we evolved would forever be within us.
i am sorry if there were times i could not fathom your existence in my life by pushing you away a little too hard.
i hoped you could have stayed a little longer or at least gotten to know each other a little more. but this is what it is and i am happy that you get to start over on a brand new year in a brand new city, you lucky bastard!
i am gonna miss you J! :(

it’s been so long I’ve been out of my body with you
I feel alone, feel at home, feel like nothing is true
you take me to a place where my senses gave-way
turn it round, shut it down, what the people say
climbing up, coming down, gonna give you some
take my hand and let it come, let it come, let it… (ghost & stuff - Deadmau5)

welcome back, you <3

oh courtney, oh love!

courtney love for dazed & confused

weekend was an interesting feat of out-of-the-ordinary awesomeness with a mix of extra tired feet and super fitted bandage skirts. did my very first media coverage for the Valentino runway show which included me in super Wham-esque hair-do in a bandage skirt, lace and my late-grandfather's white tuxedo jacket amongst women in designer dresses and super sparkly jewelry. super fun, super intimidating. front row and bubbly made me excited through out the night. a wow-wow-whee feeling or some-sort!
oh and i think the highlight of the night was the awesome music they played during the show. they actually played The XX's Crystalized. music fanatic much?

run run run away

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 12:04 PM

just got my ears & mind on The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' album It's Blitz!
and already its safe to say its one of the best ever made by them maybe because it is darker & knowing me i have somewhat this sick obsession with anything macabre and dark. my violent thoughts and dreams relates to this sort of music making this my bedtime anthem from now on. an eccentric feel of emotions entwined with an adrenaline rush would be how i would describe this album.

running away in the dark inside an empty mall with flickering ceiling lights. nothing chasing you or maybe you're chasing? infinite windows, doors, old elevators taking you nowhere. old man waiting at the end of the hall almost skeletal. suddenly a little girl is holding your hand. you promise to keep her safe. you run and run until you reach a dead end. a man points a gun at you. bang! bang! *silence*

destroy the disco

Tuesday, November 17, 2009 10:43 PM

would not have fucking bothered if it wasn't due to the internet connection. for once, thank you Maxis! i knew that shoving a large metal rod up your punani would have destroyed our wonderful relationship now.
Hed Kandi Presents Destroy the Disco was released only recently. maybe 2 weeks ago? and so far one of the good electro compilation finds you can get besides podcasting & ripping off Mutant Mayhem's tunes. hehe! as how i am easily drawn to all pretty things, the cover caught my attention first because who would not have recognize a typical hed kandi babe on a cover but this time in FUCKING FRANK MILLER-ESQUE shit?! i loved Sin City & think 300 was the best war movie ever so the red, black and white scored enough brownie points to make locate the best copy of this. adding the parental advisory sticker on a freaking HED KANDI was just awesome so yes, i got the album in 15 minutes (20MB internet connection; for trial only in the Bangsar area.... WOOO-FUCKING-HOOO!) mint condition, great quality and super sexy candieone!

track list:
Disc 1
  1. Gossip - Love Long Distance (Riva Starr Remix)
  2. Bloc Party - One More Chance (Alex Metric Remix)
  3. Example - Watch The Sun Come Up (Devil’s Gun “Zeitgeist” Remix)

marilyn manson for Olaf Blecker.
i've always found him (Manson) fascinating. i remembered doing a paper on him for one of my psychology paper. i'll always stick to the channel when i catch him playing & i even read up on his life. i think i would LOVE hanging out with him just for fucks.
heartshaped glasses was such a turn-on song. especially the scene with Manson & Evan Rachel Wood having sex in a blood soaked room. ooooh! i'm demented.

//
anyway results came out & i totally rocked the last semester out. same with the other terms i've been the past 2 years or so. mommy is proud so good for me! woop-double-woop!

i need to go book shopping for some calm reading materials.
lately i've been having violent urges to damage people's faces in.
